The face and human body are at the heart of the painting of Korean KWUN Sun-Cheol, a long-standing Parisian adoptionist. Nevertheless, his favorite themes, where nature sometimes signals his telluric presence, are not objects of delectation, but the bruises of a sore past, forever swift in his rear-consciousness. "The past never dies," Faulkner said, "and for some it didn't even pass." It will have been realized that KWUN's painting could only be a fighting art, where the condition of man's suffering, continuously apostrophic, refers to the tearing of a memory lacerated by the trauma of a fratricidal conflict, along with the breakdown of the family unit. In this context, representation is always simultaneously a projection.

이소(So Lee)는 돌가루와 아크릴을 활용해 자연의 감각과 기억을 색채의 층위로 표현하며, 마치 조각하듯 그림을 그리는 화가입니다. 프랑스 파리8대학교 조형예술학과에서 공부했으며, 지금까지 국내외에서 16회의 개인전을 열어 몽환적이면서도 사유적인 회화 세계를 펼쳐왔습니다.
So Lee (李素) is a painter who uses stone powder and acrylic to express the sensations and memories of nature through layered colors, creating her works as if sculpting. She studied Fine Arts at Paris 8 University in France and has held 16 solo exhibitions in Korea and abroad, presenting a dreamlike and contemplative world of painting.

인간이 만든 네모공간에서 나는 어떻게 행복을 만들어 갈 수 있을지 고민하고 그곳을 벗어나려 하지만 자신에 행복은 네가 살고 있는 공간에서 어떻게 즐기고 만들어 가야 행복을 느낄 수 있을 것 같다. 어린아이가 사각 블럭 을 가지고 놀이를 하듯 나의 작업도 네모 블럭 이미지를 만들어 가면서 즐거움과 이야기를 만들어 간다.

Mayowa Lawal
Born in Lagos, Nigeria, Mayowa Lawal is a fine art photographer and visual artist whose work explores the intersection of textile, body, and cultural memory. A graduate of Computer Science (2023), Mayowa combines technology with storytelling, using his lens to reinterpret identity through contemporary and maximalist aesthetics he grew up around. His visual language is rooted in tradition textile traditions from every part of Nigeria and Africa, especially Ankara: A fabric Mayowa grew up around, thanks to his mother who sold it in her textile shop. Over time, that childhood familiarity evolved into a practice centered around honoring and reimagining heritage. Prior to Mayowa’s recent iconic collaboration with ADIDAS, his work has been shown internationally, including a solo exhibition “ALÀNKARÁ” in Denmark (2023) and group shows during Art Basel Miami (2022) with RefractionDAO, ArtCrush Gallery. His photographs have appeared on billboards in Tokyo, Seoul, Australia including several others. and was featured in the +234Art Fair in Lagos (2025). He has been recognized by Prazzle Inc. as one of the Top 25 Visionaries of 2023, shortlisted by The New York Times Portfolio Review (2022), and featured across notable platforms like Apple, Vogue & The Guardian. In addition to exhibitions, his work has been commissioned by Apple Inc. and Rowohlt Verlag Germany, including book cover designs for The Five Sorrowful Mysteries of Andy Africa and Contraband Bodies by Jide Salawu.
Statement:
Influenced by the vibrant atmosphere of Lagos and colorful festivals from my childhood like the Ojude-Oba, my art symbolizes the birthing of new narratives. Using the Ankara fabric as my canvas while infusing tradition with contemporary aesthetics - I merge the old and new. Creating a unique blend of patterns and emotions. My artistic practice is heavily process-driven. But grounded in intuition, cultural heritage & memory and color psychology. Translating the unsaid into visual poetry. I start by intuitively selecting fabrics that resonate with a certain energy or memory, not just for their boldness, but for the histories they carry. These materials remind me of home, my mother’s flower garden, our family’s love for elegance & presentation, and the unspoken power in Nigerian cultural aesthetics. Then using my lens to compose raw, vibrant moments under natural light, with all these happening at the backyard in my very home. Each image is post-produced with intentionality, emphasizing tone, contrast, and emotional depth. Although I create for the sole purpose of expressing but I also intend for the viewers to go a journey of selfdiscovery, cultural reflection, and quiet courage.

1998년 프랑스로 건너가, 파리 사회과학고등연구원(EHESS)에서 박사학위를 받았다. EHESS와 프랑스 국립과학연구센터(CNRS)에서 박사후연구원으로 근무했고, 감리교신학대학교와 동국대학교에서 객원교수로 강단에 섰다. 현재 ㈜나라지식정보의 AI 아트디렉터와 상임 연구위원으로 일하는 한편, 프랑스를 거점으로 동서양을 오가며 미술 비평가와 전시 기획자로도 활동하고 있다.
