2016년 시작된 서울아프리카페스티벌(Seoul Africa Festival, SAF)이 올해 아홉 번째 축제로 돌아옵니다.

서울아프리카페스티벌은 아프리카 여러 국가의 문화와 예술, 사람과 이야기, 아이디어와 활동을 한국 시민들과 나누고, 한국에 거주하는 아프리카 커뮤니티와 주한아프리카대사관, 기관, 기업, 창작자와 시민들이 함께 만들어가는 문화 플랫폼입니다.

올해 축제는 다시 반포한강공원에서 열립니다.

한강을 따라 시민과 가족, 청년, 외국인 주민과 관광객들이 자연스럽게 오가는 서울의 대표적인 야외 공간에서 음악과 춤, 문화와 커뮤니티, 다양한 체험이 하루 동안 펼쳐집니다.

그리고 서울아프리카페스티벌을 가장 다채롭게 만드는 공간 가운데 하나가 바로 여러분이 직접 만들어가는 부스입니다.

아프리카의 문화와 관광, 커뮤니티, 교육, 예술, 시민사회, 디자인, 음식문화, 제품과 브랜드, 새로운 아이디어까지.

올해 행사 장소인 반포한강공원의 운영 여건에 따라 축제 현장에서 제품, 음식, 음료 등을 직접 판매하거나 현장에서 결제를 받는 형태의 운영은 진행하기 어렵습니다.

대신 부스에서는 기관이나 브랜드의 제품과 활동을 자유롭게 전시·소개할 수 있으며, 무료 체험, 시식, 샘플 및 홍보물 배포 등의 활동도 가능합니다.

기관의 홈페이지나 온라인 스토어, 캠페인 및 후원사업 등을 방문객들에게 소개하는 것도 가능합니다.

다만 축제 현장에서 직접 금전을 수령하는 판매나 모금 활동은 진행하지 않는 점을 참고해주세요.

   Nonprofit Organization / Student Group Booth | 비영리기관·학생단체 할인 부스
   ㅤ
   비영리법인, 비영리민간단체 및 이에 준하는 비영리기관과, 대학생·대학원생 등 학생들이 주도적으로 구성·운영하는 학생단체를 위한 할인 참가 유형입니다.
   ㅤ
   비영리기관의 경우 관련 증빙자료 제출이 가능해야 하며, 학생단체의 경우 필요 시 학교 소속 또는 학생단체임을 확인할 수 있는 자료를 요청할 수 있습니다.

   General Participating Booth | 일반 참가 부스
   ㅤ
   기업, 브랜드, 기관, 단체, 개인 등 위 두 유형에 해당하지 않는 참가자를 대상으로 합니다.

   🤝 참가비 안내

   부스 운영에는 부스 구조물과 기본 집기뿐 아니라 운송, 설치·철거, 전기 인프라, 행사장 운영, 안전관리, 청소 등 다양한 준비와 운영 비용이 함께 발생합니다.
   ㅤ
   안내된 참가비는 이러한 비용 전체를 충당하는 금액이 아니라, 축제를 함께 만들어가기 위해 참가자가 일부를 함께 분담하는 참여 기여금의 성격입니다. 실제 운영에 필요한 비용의 상당 부분은 주최 측과 후원·협력 파트너가 함께 부담하고 있습니다.

   여러분의 참가비는 단순한 부스 이용료를 넘어, 다양한 참가자들이 한자리에 모여 더 풍성하고 안전한 서울아프리카페스티벌을 만들어갈 수 있도록 보태주시는 소중한 공동의 기여로 사용됩니다. 함께해주셔서 감사합니다.

   🌐 해외(국제) 참가자 안내
   ㅤ
   해외에서 신청하시는 경우에도 국내 참가자와 동일한 신청·선정 기준과 운영 규정이 적용됩니다.
   ㅤ
   • 최종 선정 후 필요 시 서울아프리카페스티벌 명의의 공식 초청장(Invitation Letter) 또는 참가 확인서를 발급해드릴 수 있습니다. 다만 해당 문서는 축제 참가 사실을 확인하기 위한 것으로, 비자 발급이나 입국을 보장하거나 재정적 후원을 의미하지 않습니다.
   ㅤ
   • 여권·비자, 항공, 숙박, 보험, 현지 교통, 부스 물품 운송 및 기타 여행·참가 준비에 필요한 모든 절차와 비용은 참가자가 직접 준비하고 부담해주셔야 합니다.
   ㅤ
   • 참가비는 원화(KRW) 기준이며, 해외에서 납부하는 경우 대한민국 은행계좌로 국제송금이 필요할 수 있습니다. 송금 및 중개은행 수수료 등으로 참가비가 부족하게 입금되지 않도록 관련 수수료는 참가자 측에서 부담해주시기 바랍니다.

   • 해외 참가자도 2026년 10월 14일(수) 20:00–21:30(KST) 온라인 OT에 부스당 최소 1명이 반드시 참석해야 하며, 행사 당일 운영시간과 모든 안전·운영 지침이 동일하게 적용됩니다.

   • 초청장 또는 참가 확인서 발급은 최종 선정된 참가자에 한해 안내되며, 비자 및 입국에 관한 최종 결정은 관계 당국의 권한에 따릅니다.

   ※ 부스당 기본 전력 사용은 1kW 이하를 원칙으로 합니다.

   VI. 행사 당일 운영

   • 부스 의무 운영: 11:00–18:00
   • 철수: 18:00 이후 사무국 안내에 따라 진행

   오전 11시부터 관람객이 정상적으로 부스를 방문할 수 있도록 모든 설치와 준비를 완료해주세요.
   ㅤ
   모든 참가자가 함께 일관된 축제 경험을 만들 수 있도록 공식 운영시간인 오후 6시까지 부스를 운영해주시기 바랍니다.
   ㅤ
   건강 또는 안전 등 불가피한 사유가 발생한 경우에는 사무국에 먼저 알려주시기 바랍니다.

   VII. 부스 콘텐츠 및 운영 가이드라인

   서울아프리카페스티벌은 많은 사람들이 아프리카를 만나고 서로 새로운 관계를 만들어가는 공간입니다.

   안전하고 즐거우며, 아프리카의 다양성과 존엄성을 존중하는 축제를 함께 만들기 위해 아래 기준을 확인해주세요.

5. 아프리카와 직접적으로 관련된 콘텐츠
   ㅤ
   부스의 주요 콘텐츠는 아프리카 국가, 사람, 문화, 사회, 경제, 관광, 예술, 커뮤니티 또는 아프리카와의 교류와 협력에 명확한 관련성이 있어야 합니다.
   ㅤ
   아프리카와의 실질적인 연결 없이 단순히 많은 관람객을 대상으로 상품이나 서비스를 홍보하는 것을 주된 목적으로 하는 경우에는 선정이 어려울 수 있습니다.
   ㅤ

6. 과도한 고통 중심 표현 및 자극적인 이미지 사용 제한
   ㅤ
   아프리카의 빈곤, 질병, 분쟁, 재난 또는 아동과 지역사회의 어려움을 지나치게 부각하거나, 사람들을 일방적인 도움의 대상으로만 묘사해 연민이나 죄책감을 유도하는 방식의 콘텐츠는 지양합니다.
   ㅤ
   사회문제, 인도적 지원, 개발협력 및 관련 활동을 소개하는 것은 가능합니다.
   ㅤ
   다만 해당 지역과 사람들의 상황을 충분한 맥락 속에서 설명하고, 당사자의 존엄성, 주체성, 다양성과 목소리를 존중하는 방식으로 표현해주시기 바랍니다.

7. 현장 판매·결제 관련 안내
   ㅤ
   반포한강공원의 운영 여건에 따라 축제 현장에서 제품, 음식, 음료, 서비스 등을 직접 판매하거나 현장에서 결제를 받는 형태의 운영은 진행하지 않습니다.
   ㅤ
   대신 다음과 같은 활동은 자유롭게 진행할 수 있습니다.
   ㅤ
   • 제품 및 브랜드 전시
   • 기관 및 기업 활동 소개
   • 무료 체험 프로그램
   • 무료 시식 및 샘플 제공
   • 홍보물 및 기념품 무료 배포
   • 홈페이지 및 온라인 스토어 소개
   • 향후 프로그램 및 서비스에 대한 정보 제공

   방문객과 자연스럽게 소통하고 기관이나 브랜드를 소개하는 것은 적극적으로 환영합니다.

8. 현장 모금 관련 안내

   비영리단체와 시민사회기관이 기관의 미션, 캠페인, 사업 및 후원 프로그램을 소개하는 것은 가능합니다.

   다만 축제 현장에서 방문객으로부터 직접 기부금이나 후원금을 수령하는 형태의 모금 활동은 진행하지 않습니다.

   기관의 홈페이지, 캠페인 페이지 또는 평소 운영하고 있는 후원 프로그램 등을 안내하는 것은 가능합니다.

9. 안전을 최우선으로 해주세요
   ㅤ
   서울아프리카페스티벌은 어린이를 포함해 다양한 시민이 방문하는 야외 행사입니다.
   ㅤ
   다음과 같이 안전상 위험이 있을 수 있는 활동은 제한될 수 있습니다.
   ㅤ
   • 화기 또는 불 사용
   • 위험물 사용 및 보관
   • 참가자의 신체적 안전을 위협할 수 있는 체험
   • 보행 동선을 크게 방해하는 구조물
   • 사전 협의되지 않은 전기설비
   • 과도한 전력 사용
   • 파손 또는 전도 위험이 있는 구조물
   • 기타 주최 측이 안전상 위험하다고 판단하는 활동

   화재 위험으로 인해 불을 사용하는 현장 조리는 진행할 수 없습니다.

10. 주변 부스를 배려해주세요
    ㅤ
    개별 부스에서 대형 스피커나 앰프를 사용하거나 반복적으로 큰 음악과 소리를 발생시켜 주변 부스 또는 공식 무대 프로그램에 영향을 주는 경우 사용이 제한될 수 있습니다.
    ㅤ
    음악, 공연 또는 별도의 음향장비 사용이 필요한 경우 신청 단계에서 알려주세요.

11. 정치·종교 관련 활동
    ㅤ
    서울아프리카페스티벌은 다양한 국적과 종교, 문화적 배경을 가진 사람들이 함께하는 열린 문화축제입니다.

    따라서 다음과 같은 활동은 행사 취지와 맞지 않습니다.
    ㅤ
    • 특정 정당이나 정치세력을 지지 또는 반대하기 위한 선전
    • 선거운동
    • 방문객의 가입이나 개종을 직접적인 목적으로 하는 적극적인 종교 포교
    ㅤ
    기관의 활동이나 문화적·종교적 배경을 객관적으로 소개하는 것은 가능합니다.

12. 친환경 축제를 함께 만들어주세요
    ㅤ
    한강공원의 환경을 보호하기 위해 다음 사항에 적극적으로 협조해주세요.

    • 일회용품 사용 최소화
    • 재사용 가능한 장식 및 집기 활용
    • 불필요한 인쇄물 최소화
    • 부스에서 발생한 쓰레기 자체 정리
    • 행사 종료 후 부스 공간 원상복구

13. 신청 내용과 실제 운영 내용은 동일하게 유지해주세요
    ㅤ
    부스 선정은 제출하신 신청 내용을 바탕으로 이루어집니다.
    ㅤ
    따라서 사전 협의 없이 다음과 같은 주요 변경을 하지 않도록 해주세요.
    ㅤ
    • 부스 운영 주체 변경
    • 주요 콘텐츠 변경
    • 신청하지 않은 제품이나 서비스의 추가적인 홍보
    • 다른 기관이나 업체에 부스를 임의로 공유 또는 양도
    ㅤ
    운영 내용에 큰 변경이 필요한 경우 사전에 사무국과 협의해주세요.
    ㅤ
    실제 운영 내용이 신청 내용과 크게 다르거나 행사 운영에 어려움을 주는 경우 현장에서 조정을 요청드릴 수 있습니다.

14. 한 기관 또는 개인당 1개 부스만 가능합니다
    ㅤ
    행사 공간이 한정되어 있어 원칙적으로 하나의 기관·단체·개인에게 최대 1개의 부스만 배정합니다.

    VIII. 주차 및 차량 진입
    ㅤ

    반포한강공원 인근 유료주차장을 이용할 수 있습니다.
    ㅤ
    부스 참가 기관 및 개인에게 별도의 무료 주차권 또는 할인권은 제공되지 않습니다.
    ㅤ
    행사 당일 주변 교통과 주차장이 매우 혼잡할 수 있으므로 가능한 경우 대중교통 이용을 권장합니다.

    행사장 내 차량 진입
    ㅤ
    한강공원의 운영 여건상 부스 참가 차량이 행사장 및 녹지 내부까지 직접 진입하는 것은 어렵습니다.
    ㅤ
    부스 운영 물품은 주차장 또는 지정된 하차 가능 장소에서 카트나 인력을 이용해 운반할 수 있도록 준비해주세요.
    ㅤ
    구체적인 차량 동선과 물품 운반 방법은 OT에서 안내합니다.

    IX. 환불 규정
    ㅤ
    참가비 입금 후 참가를 취소하는 경우 아래 기준에 따라 환불됩니다.

    • 2026년 10월 9일(금) 23:59까지 취소: 참가비 100% 환불
    • 2026년 10월 10일(토) – 10월 16일(금) 23:59까지 취소: 참가비 50% 환불
    • 2026년 10월 17일(토) 이후 취소: 환불 불가
    • 행사 당일 불참(No-show): 환불 불가

    단순 변심, 내부 일정 변경, 인력 부족, 준비 미비 등 참가자 측 사정으로 취소하는 경우 위 일반 환불 기준이 적용됩니다.

    불가피한 사유
    ㅤ
    천재지변, 참가자 또는 직계가족의 중대한 건강 문제, 경조사 등 참가자가 합리적으로 예측하거나 통제하기 어려운 불가피한 사유가 발생한 경우 관련 내용을 확인할 수 있는 자료와 함께 사무국으로 알려주시기 바랍니다.

    사무국에서 개별 사정을 검토하여 환불 여부 및 범위를 결정할 수 있습니다.

    주최 측에 의한 행사 취소
    ㅤ
    주최 측의 사정으로 축제가 취소되거나 선정된 부스를 제공할 수 없게 된 경우 납부한 부스 참가비 전액을 환불합니다.

    우천 및 기상상황
    ㅤ
    일반적인 우천 등에도 행사가 정상적으로 진행되는 경우 참가자의 자의적인 불참에 대해서는 별도의 환불이 제공되지 않습니다.

    태풍, 집중호우, 재난 또는 관계기관의 지침 등으로 행사가 공식적으로 취소되는 경우에는 별도의 환불 기준을 안내합니다.

    First launched in 2016, the Seoul Africa Festival (SAF) returns in 2026 for its 9th edition.

    SAF is a cultural platform where the diversity of African countries, cultures, people, stories, ideas, and initiatives is shared with the public in Korea, and where African communities in Korea, African embassies, organizations, businesses, creators, and citizens come together to co-create the festival.

    This year, SAF returns to Banpo Hangang Park.

    Set along the Han River, one of Seoul's most iconic public spaces, the festival will bring together music, dance, culture, communities, and interactive experiences for one exciting day.

    📌 Please Read Before Applying
    ㅤ
    Due to the operating conditions and regulations of Banpo Hangang Park, booths will not be able to directly sell products, food, beverages, or services or receive payments at the festival venue.
    ㅤ
    Booth partners are, however, welcome to showcase and introduce their organizations, brands, products, and activities. Free experiences, tastings, samples, promotional materials, and giveaways are also welcome.

    Organizations may also introduce their websites, online stores, campaigns, and sponsorship or fundraising programmes.

    We simply ask that booth activities at the festival itself be operated without directly receiving payments, sales proceeds, donations, or other monetary contributions from visitors.

    Nonprofit organizations should be able to provide relevant supporting documentation. Student groups may be asked to provide documentation confirming their affiliation with a school, university, or recognized student organization if necessary.

    For businesses, brands, institutions, organizations, groups, and individuals that do not fall under the above two categories.

    🤝 About the Participation Fee
    ㅤ
    Operating each booth involves more than the physical booth itself. It also includes shared costs such as transportation, set-up and dismantling, basic equipment, electrical infrastructure, site operations, safety management, and cleaning.

    The participation fee is not intended to cover the full cost of providing and operating a booth. Rather, it represents a shared contribution from participants toward creating the festival together, while a substantial portion of the overall cost is already supported by the organizers, sponsors, and festival partners.
    ㅤ
    Your contribution therefore goes beyond simply paying for booth space: it helps make it possible for a diverse range of participants to come together and create a welcoming, vibrant, and safe Seoul Africa Festival. Thank you for being part of building the festival with us.

    🌐 Information for International (Overseas) Applicants
    ㅤ
    Applicants based outside Korea are welcome to apply and are subject to the same application, selection, safety, and operational requirements as participants based in Korea.
    ㅤ
    • If requested after final selection, SAF may provide an official Seoul Africa Festival Invitation Letter or confirmation of participation. This document is intended to confirm participation in the festival and does not constitute financial sponsorship or guarantee the issuance of a visa or entry into Korea.
    ㅤ
    • Participants are responsible for arranging and covering all travel and participation-related procedures and expenses, including passports and visas, airfare, accommodation, insurance, local transportation, shipment of booth materials, and other necessary preparations.
    ㅤ
    • Participation fees are set in Korean won (KRW). Applicants paying from overseas may need to make an international wire transfer to a Korean bank account. Any sending, intermediary, or other bank charges should be covered by the participant so that the full participation fee is received.
    ㅤ
    • International participants are also required to have at least one representative from each booth attend the online orientation on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, 20:00–21:30 KST. The same event-day operating hours and all safety and operational guidelines apply.
    ㅤ
    • Invitation letters or participation confirmations are available only to applicants who have been finally selected. All visa and entry decisions remain under the authority of the relevant government and consular authorities.

    VI. Event Day Operation

    VII. Booth Content & Operation Guidelines
    ㅤ
    SAF is a space where people encounter Africa and build new relationships.
    ㅤ
    To create a safe and enjoyable festival that respects the diversity, dignity, and agency of African people and communities, please review the following guidelines.
    ㅤ

19. Content Should Be Directly Related to Africa
    ㅤ
    The main content of the booth should have a clear relationship to African countries, people, cultures, societies, economies, tourism, arts, communities, or Africa-related exchange and cooperation.
    ㅤ
    Applications whose primary purpose is simply to advertise products, services, or organizations to a large audience without a meaningful connection to Africa may be difficult to accommodate.
    ㅤ

20. Avoid Overly Distressing or Sensationalized Representations
    ㅤ
    Please avoid content that disproportionately emphasizes poverty, disease, conflict, disaster, or hardship in African communities, or portrays people only as passive recipients of assistance in ways intended primarily to generate pity or guilt.
    ㅤ
    Organizations are welcome to introduce social issues, humanitarian assistance, development cooperation, and related work.
    ㅤ
    We simply ask that these stories be presented with sufficient context and in ways that respect the dignity, agency, diversity, and voices of the people represented.
    ㅤ

21. Sales & On-site Payments
    ㅤ
    Due to the operating conditions of Banpo Hangang Park, booths will not be able to directly sell products, food, beverages, services, or other items or receive payments at the festival venue.
    ㅤ
    Booth partners are welcome to:
    ㅤ
    • Display products and brands
    • Introduce organizations and businesses
    • Provide free interactive activities
    • Offer free tastings and samples
    • Distribute promotional materials or giveaways
    • Introduce websites and online stores
    • Provide information about future programs and services
    ㅤ
    We warmly encourage booths to engage visitors and introduce their organizations or brands.
    ㅤ
    We simply ask that these activities take place without direct sales or collection of payments at the festival venue.
    ㅤ

22. On-site Fundraising & Sponsorship Information
    ㅤ
    Nonprofit and civil society organizations are welcome to introduce their missions, campaigns, projects, and sponsorship or fundraising programmes.
    ㅤ
    However, booths should not directly collect donations or financial contributions from visitors at the festival venue.
    ㅤ
    Organizations may introduce their websites, campaign pages, or existing sponsorship and donation programmes.
    ㅤ

23. Safety Comes First
    ㅤ
    SAF is an outdoor public event welcoming visitors of all ages, including children.
    ㅤ
    Activities presenting potential safety risks may be restricted, including:
    ㅤ
    • Open flames or fire
    • Hazardous materials
    • Activities that may pose a physical risk to participants
    • Structures that significantly block pedestrian routes
    • Electrical equipment not discussed in advance
    • Excessive electrical use
    • Unstable structures that may fall or break
    • Other activities considered unsafe by the organizer

    Cooking
    ㅤ
    For fire-safety reasons, on-site cooking using open flames or fire is not possible.
    ㅤ
    Electrical appliances such as induction cookers, microwaves, or coffee machines should be discussed with the Secretariat in advance.
    ㅤ

24. Please Respect Neighboring Booths
    ㅤ
    The use of large speakers, independent amplifiers, or repeated loud music and sound that significantly interferes with neighboring booths or the official stage may be restricted.
    ㅤ
    If music, performances, or sound equipment are necessary for your booth, please indicate this in your application.
    ㅤ

25. Political and Religious Activities
    ㅤ
    SAF is an open cultural festival welcoming visitors from many national, cultural, political, and religious backgrounds.
    ㅤ
    The following activities are therefore not appropriate for the festival:
    ㅤ
    • Campaigning for or against a specific political party or political group
    • Election campaigning
    • Active religious proselytizing primarily intended to recruit or convert visitors
    ㅤ
    Objective introductions to an organization's activities or cultural and religious background are welcome.
    ㅤ

26. Help Us Create an Eco-friendly Festival
    ㅤ
    Please help protect the environment of Hangang Park by:
    ㅤ
    • Minimizing disposable items
    • Using reusable decorations and equipment
    • Reducing unnecessary printed materials
    • Cleaning up waste generated by your booth
    • Restoring the booth area after the event
    ㅤ

27. Please Keep Your Booth Consistent With Your Application
    ㅤ
    Selection decisions are made based on the submitted application.
    ㅤ
    Please consult the Secretariat in advance before making major changes such as:
    ㅤ
    • Changing the primary booth operator
    • Significantly changing the booth's main content
    • Promoting additional products or services not included in the application
    • Transferring or sharing the booth with another organization or business
    ㅤ
    If significant changes become necessary, please contact the Secretariat in advance.
    ㅤ
    Where booth operations differ substantially from the approved application or create difficulties for overall festival operation, the Secretariat may ask for adjustments on site.
    ㅤ

28. One Booth per Organization or Individual
    ㅤ
    Due to limited space, each organization, group, or individual may generally operate a maximum of one booth.
    ㅤ

    VIII. Parking & Vehicle Access

    Paid parking is available around Banpo Hangang Park.
    ㅤ
    Free or discounted parking passes are not provided to booth participants.
    ㅤ
    Parking areas and nearby roads may be very crowded on the festival day, so public transportation is recommended where possible.

    Vehicle Access
    ㅤ
    Due to the operating conditions of Hangang Park, participant vehicles generally cannot enter directly into the festival area or green space.
    ㅤ
    Please prepare to transport booth materials manually or by cart from a parking area or designated drop-off point.

    Detailed access and transportation instructions will be provided during the orientation.

    IX. Refund Policy
    ㅤ
    If a selected participant cancels after paying the participation fee, refunds will be provided according to the following schedule.

    General Cancellation
    ㅤ
    • Cancellation by October 9, 2026, 23:59 KST: 100% refund
    • Cancellation between October 10 and October 16, 2026, 23:59 KST: 50% refund
    • Cancellation on or after October 17, 2026: No refund
    • No-show on the event day: No refund

    Cancellations due to changes of plan, internal schedule changes, staffing issues, insufficient preparation, or other circumstances on the participant's side will follow the general refund policy above.

    Unavoidable Circumstances
    ㅤ
    In circumstances that could not reasonably have been anticipated or controlled by the participant, including natural disasters, serious health issues affecting the participant or an immediate family member, or family emergencies, please contact the Secretariat with relevant supporting information.

    The Secretariat may review such circumstances on a case-by-case basis and determine the appropriate refund.
    ㅤ
    Cancellation by the Organizer
    ㅤ
    If the festival is cancelled by the organizer or the organizer is unable to provide a confirmed booth, the full participation fee will be refunded.

    Rain and Weather Conditions
    ㅤ
    If the festival proceeds as scheduled despite ordinary rain or weather conditions, refunds will not be provided to participants who choose not to attend.
    ㅤ
    If the event is officially cancelled due to a typhoon, severe weather, disaster, or instructions from the relevant authorities, separate refund arrangements will be announced.

    Basic electricity and a multi-plug will be provided for devices such as laptops and mobile phones.

    Electricity use should generally remain below 1kW per booth.

    High-power devices or heating equipment must be discussed with the Secretariat in advance.

    Q. Are Parking Passes Provided?

    Free or discounted parking passes are not provided.

    Paid parking is available around Banpo Hangang Park.

    Q. Can I Drive Directly to My Booth to Unload Equipment?

    Due to the operating conditions of Hangang Park, participant vehicles generally cannot enter directly into the festival area or green space.

    Please be prepared to transport booth materials manually or by cart from a parking area or designated drop-off point.
    ㅤ
    Detailed instructions will be provided during the orientation.

    Q. Can We Leave Before the Official Booth Closing Time?

    All booths are expected to operate from 11:00 to 18:00.
    ㅤ
    If an unavoidable health or safety issue occurs, please contact the Secretariat first.

    Repeated late arrival, failure to operate the booth, or early departure without prior communication may be taken into consideration for future festival participation.

    Q. Is Orientation Attendance Mandatory?

    Yes.

    At least one representative from each booth must attend the online orientation on Wednesday, October 14, from 20:00 to 21:30 KST.

    Important information regarding booth placement, access, safety, electricity, material transportation, and event operations will be provided.

    If attendance becomes genuinely difficult, please contact the Secretariat in advance.

    Q. Is Every Applicant Automatically Accepted?
    ㅤ
    No.
    ㅤ
    SAF aims to accommodate as many eligible and relevant applicants as reasonably possible. However, when booth space is limited or applications are concentrated in particular areas, final selection may be necessary in order to create a balanced and diverse festival program.
    ㅤ
    Rather than relying on any single factor, applications will be considered holistically, including:
    ㅤ
    • Relevance to Africa: a clear and meaningful connection to African countries, regions, communities, cultures, people, content, or Africa-related exchange and cooperation
    ㅤ
    • Track record and authenticity/credibility of the content: the applicant’s background and experience, meaningful connection to the culture or subject being presented where relevant, and whether the proposed content is presented with respect and sufficient context
    ㅤ
    • Diversity and inclusion across the festival: helping ensure that the overall booth program reflects a broad range of countries, regions, cultures, perspectives, themes, and types of participants rather than becoming overly concentrated in one area
    ㅤ
    • Quality and operational readiness: clarity and substance of the proposal, opportunities for visitors to engage with or understand the content, and the applicant’s ability to operate the booth reliably throughout the event
    ㅤ
    • Safety and overall festival fit: consistency with the safety standards and operating principles of a public festival welcoming visitors of all ages
    ㅤ
    Selection will not prioritize or disadvantage applicants simply on the basis of nationality or whether they are based in Korea or overseas. Our goal is to create a process that is fair, inclusive, diverse, and balanced across the festival as a whole.

    Q. Can I Receive a Refund After Paying the Participation Fee?
    ㅤ
    Yes, depending on the cancellation date.

    • By October 9: 100% refund
    • October 10–16: 50% refund
    • October 17 onward: No refund
